$572.50). General discussion took place
regarding the sale or giving of the balance of thermal mugs (ca. 25) left over
from Teacher Appreciation Week. It was
decided by all those in attendance that we sell them on a first come first
serve basis at the next dance. Price to

Correspondence was next on the agenda and was as
follows:
a. CURE
Foundation – inviting us to participate in National Denim Day on May 10 to help
raise awareness and funds for breast cancer.
General discussion arose as to whether or not we wanted to participate
fully in the event. It was noted that we
currently participate in the Terry Fox Run, Jump Rope for Heart, etc on a
regular basis. Pat Giffin suggested that
rather than participate with the full event and ask for $5 donations,
registration forms, pink ribbons, etc, we would advise of the event either in
the May newsletter &/or by notices sent home that children dress in “denim”
on May 10 and donate either a $1 or $2, doing so on a slightly smaller
scale. All proceeds will be forwarded to
the CURE foundation on behalf of the school.
b. Letter
re: Victims of Violence Child ID Program
– was received from the Drumheller Lions Club advising of the availability
of “Child ID Kits”. (A copy of the letter is attached to the
Minute Book copy of these Minutes).
Normally the cost is as much as $30 each, however, the Lions Club is
willing to provide these kits to all Greentree School students at no cost and
even help with the completion and fingerprinting. All in attendance agreed that this was a
worthwhile project. Anne Morgan will
contact Lions Club members John Shoff or Jerry Beskowine to get the program
rolling. A consent form will be included
in the April newsletter for parents to complete.
