Facilities Update
What’s happening with the Golden Hills facilities proposal to Alberta Infrastructure? We are hoping for an answer sometime in June. We will let parents know as soon as we do.
For those of you who are unaware of Golden Hills proposal to improve space utilization in Drumheller, it was suggested that Drumheller Composite High School be “right-sized” and completely renovated. This would reduce its overall size. A new school would be built on the same lot as DCHS. The new Greentree School would continue to be a separate kindergarten through grade six school community with its own play space, School Council, administration and staff. Our present school would be turned over to Alberta Infrastructure to fill other needs in Drumheller. All Drumheller Golden Hills students would benefit from this proposal, as we would have either new or completely renovated facilities. We hope that the government will respond favourably to our proposal.
